The High Risk Club

The High Risk Club is a social event created by Chronic Collective in collaboration with A4 Sounds for people who are high risk from COVID-19 and other illnesses, and for the friends and communities who want to gather with them safely.

Many disabled, chronically ill and high-risk people have been excluded from cultural and social spaces since the pandemic, as mask requirements and safety measures disappeared from most public events. The High Risk Club was created as a response to this exclusion, it’s a space where people can meet, laugh, dance, listen to music and enjoy being together without having to compromise their health or safety.

The events are fully masked with medical exceptions and include accessibility measures such as free high-quality masks, ventilation and HEPA filtration to create a safer environment for those who cannot safely attend most public gatherings.

The High Risk Club brings together music, performance and storytelling in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Artists who have performed at the club include Hog and Dice, Day Magee, 7of9, Sophie Meehan, Aoife Wolf and Anna Roberts-Gevalt, creating evenings of music, conversation and collective joy.
