Nap Club — Project Arts Centre (11 March 2023)
As part of Being Horizontal / Sínte, curated by Nora Heidorn at Project Arts Centre, Áine O’Hara hosted Nap Club, a small gathering inviting participants to rest together in the gallery space.
The event created time for rest, conversation and connection for chronically ill and disabled participants, exploring rest as a form of care, community and resistance. With space limited to six participants, the day focused on slowing down, sharing experiences and imagining new possibilities together.
Participants were invited to bring sleeping bags, mats or blankets, with bedding also provided. Accessibility measures included high-quality mask-wearing and a HEPA air filter throughout the event.
Nap Club formed part of the public programme for the exhibition Being Horizontal / Sínte and centred the experiences of people living with chronic illness or disability.
